BC 2014: Construction Principles I

What are Additives?

Additives are put into the finished paint to give it certain properties that make it easier to use, or look different. They can make a paint less foamy, or kill bacteria and mold on the surface. The chemicals to do these things are the same for both Low-VOC and Oil-based paints.
