Structural and Mechanical Performance Criteria

The following page is dedicated to describing ASTM tests that are commonly used when evaluating the structural and mechanical properties of wall systems.

Parameter Description
Tensile strength  The maximum amount of tensile loading a material can withstand before structural failure.
Lateral strength  The capability of a material to resist loads which are applied across its longitudinal grain.
Compressive strength  The ability of a material to withstand axial forces pushing inward on its surfaces.
Torsion strength  The ability of a material to resist twisting forces.
