Team Purpose
Vision
We envision that all team members will successfully graduate from Virgina Tech well prepared to perform in the ever-changing construction industry. We hope that the team building skills taken from this class will help us perform well in our careers and exceed the expectations of our employers, hopefully leading to prosperity in our daily lives.
Mission
To work together as a team, and complete every project to the highest standards of ourselves and of our professor.
Objectives
- Complete all assignments to the best of our abilities.
- Meet all deadlines.
- Develop team quality standards.
- Learn how to solve problems and work together as an efficient team.
- Use the knowledge of our team members and of other teams to better prepare ourselves for the future.
Operating Agreement
Norms
- Meeting times will be set to accommodate every members schedule.
- Be focused and on task during meetings.
- Be on time for every meeting.
- Come to meetings prepared with all work completed.
- Be respectful of other group members ideas.
- Do not place blame on other group members, there is no "i" in team.
- If a disagreement should occur, the debate will be handled in a professional and calm manner.
- Be sure to close a topic before moving on to something else.
- Keep in close contact with group members.
- Share all information you have, it may better the team.
- Give constructive feedback to other members ideas.
Unacceptable Behaviors
- Being over twenty minutes late to a meeting without prior notification to another group member.
- Not showing up to a meeting without a valid excuse submitted before the meeting begins.
- Coming to a meeting unprepared.
- Showing disrespect towards other team members.
Consequences for Behaving Inappropriately
- Strike One - Verbal Warning
- Strike Two - Two week probation period, any unacceptable behavior shown during probationary period will result in the notification of the professor.
- Strike Three - Documentation will be collected and the member will be terminated.
Decision Rules
- Work will be divided evenly amongst team members based on individual knowledge.
- Large tasks will be tackled by the entire team.
- In the instance a team member does not complete his or her work, the entire team will complete it and the member will face a consequence.
